Producer
Rebecca Jacobson

Arts editor Rebecca Jacobson steers Portland Monthly’s arts and culture coverage in print and online, and she manages the magazine’s internship program. She edits the occasional feature package and also contributes stories on cannabis, Portlanders with offbeat internet projects, and new and potentially dubious forms of yoga.
Before joining the magazine in January 2016, she spent time in Berlin reviewing 24-hour theater productions, chasing after mayhem-battling mimes, and tracking down her distant Jewish ancestors. She worked for several years at Willamette Week, where her cover story about a ghost-obsessed YouTube star was named best arts feature at the 2015 AltWeekly Awards.
Raised in Portland, Rebecca studied history at Brown University before ditching New England for a year of independent research in Malawi. These days, she can be found on her bike, in the woods, or eating (and often making) baked goods.
