The Future is Bright

On February 29th, join Portland-grown comedian Ian Karmel (former writer and panelist on E!’s “Chelsea Lately” and regular contributor to the Portland Mercury), Master of Ceremonies Courtenay Hameister (former Head Host and Head Writer of LiveWire! Radio), and musical guest and wizards of funk the Soul Commanders to support local nonprofit All Hands Raised at this year’s brightest fundraiser – Shine On!
For 21 years, All Hands Raised has championed education, equity and excellence for all of our kids. And for one night a year, they invite the community to take a break from that work in order to laugh. This event is a chance to take a night off, kick up your heels, enjoy a slightly less polite Roast of our community — and raise your hand to support their work to improve educational outcomes for all Multnomah children and youth.
All Hands Raised serves as the backbone organization for the All Hands Raised Partnership. Their role is to gather Multnomah County’s diverse efforts and align them in ways that strengthen supports for kids—from cradle to career. They bring together six school districts with leaders from the county, the city, businesses, nonprofits and higher education to help individuals and organizations understand how they fit together to create change. They remain true to their roots, stewarding parent-led fundraising in Portland Public Schools and managing the Portland Public Schools Foundation Equity Fund at no additional cost to parents or schools.
The event starts at 5:30pm at the Moda Center. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here!
