Eating with Aloha in Hawai‘i

Eating with Aloha in Hawai‘i
The Hawaiian Islands’ journey to legendary culinary destination started over 25 years ago when 12 islands chefs launched Hawai‘i Regional Cuisine, a fusion of local ingredients and multiethnic cuisines. Today, Hawai‘i delights visitors with a vibrant and ever evolving roster of restaurants, chefs, farmers’ markets, culinary festivals, artisanal food makers, plus craft beer and spirits makers that reflect the unique bounty of the islands.
What could be better than sipping a locally handcrafted brew or vintage champagne while savoring a chef’s inspired creation as the sun set in the Pacific? Few food festivals capture a sense of place like the Hawai‘i Food & Wine Festival (HFWF) which celebrates the state’s natural bounty, promotes local sustainability, and benefits local culinary education. Co-founded by chefs and restaurateurs Alan Wong and Roy Yamaguchi, HFWF celebrates Hawai‘i’s cutting edge culinary scene and features an all-star line up of Hawai‘i and international chefs cooking with locally sourced ingredients while renowned sommeliers, mixologists, and food world luminaries entertain and educate locals and visitors at innovative, interactive dinners, galas, tastings, demonstrations, seminars and creative culinary experiences on Maui, Hawai‘i Island, and O‘ahu. And since this is Hawai‘i, so many events will be enjoyed outdoors with the sublime weather. At HFWF, you can tee off with celebrity chefs and winemakers, enjoy food and wine on the beach with fireworks, and dig into the freshest farm to table food. What’s more, guests may enjoy exquisite seven course dinners with the finest food and wine pairings, relax at laid back poolside cocktails and appetizer tastings, and even attend family oriented food event where kids get to cook. This fall, head to Hawai‘i for delicious adventures.
