Next Thursday, November 2, from 6pm-10pm, Portland-born and based apparel brand Nau celebrates their 10-year anniversary, and they’re inviting you to celebrate the occasion along with them.

Ten years ago Nau launched their first collection: a line of sustainable performance apparel that redefined the meaning of “outdoor.” In the decade since, they’ve built a brand on the philosophy that business can be a force for positive change.

Working on—and sometimes over—the bleeding edge of what’s possible, Nau has pursued the design and development of innovative ideas. From the design of their product to the design of their business, Nau has consistently pioneered sustainable fabrications, retail models, giving programs and philanthropic partnerships, including their decade-long relationship with Portland-based Mercy Corps, to whom Nau has donated a total of over $200,000.

The original Nau team consisted of a dedicated crew of industry veterans—most from the Portland area—who were attracted to the radical idea of building a company which places sustainability and social good at the center of their business model. The concept began under the codename “Unf_ck the World.” Ten years later the brand still operates under the same “UTW” principles, designing and developing innovative, versatile and sustainable men’s and women’s fashion and accessories from an old warehouse in NE Portland. As the Nau crew looks back on A Decade of Doing Better, they invite you—their friends, fans and Portland community—to pop in to the anniversary event hosted at their store on the corner of NW 11^th and Everett for complimentary food and drink, raffles, reflection, and a look ahead to what they have planned for the future. The event is free to attend.
