In 1987, Argyle was founded by pioneering Oregon vintner Rollin Soles, with a belief that the cool climate of Oregon’s Willamette Valley was ideal for producing sparkling wines that could stand alongside the great wines of Champagne.

While sparkling wine was Argyle’s first claim to fame, in the three decades since its founding it has also earned acclaim for its cool-climate chardonnays and its vibrant and alluring pinot noirs. In fact, Argyle is the only American winery to have earned a place on Wine Spectator’s annual “Top 100” list of the world’s greatest wines in three categories: red, white, and sparkling.
