Fall even deeper in love this heart-filled season under the mystique of a glowing desert moon. Palm Springs gives you the chance to unplug from it all so that you and your significant other can rekindle that oft-overlooked spark. Give us three calendar days and we’ll give you a dreamy couples getaway—with a little help from our most romantic itinerary to date.
Day One: Cozying Up
After breezing into town, settle into your new digs. When it comes to lodging, consider mid-century modern gems like The Three Fifty Hotel, a 10-room boutique property that’s reserved for the 21-and-over crowd. Spend the day savoring the 86-degree heated pool, soothing mountain views, chic minimalist decor, and treatments at next door’s Whispers Spa at La Serena Villas.
Luxuriate in imported Italian linens at Alcazar, a 34-room boutique hotel featuring a salt water purified pool and gorgeous courtyard garden, among other amenities. Two top-notch restaurants await next door; wake up with fresh-pressed green juice and churro waffles (plus a “world famous bacon flight”) at Cheeky’s, and dine on seasonal pizzas (think pancetta and farm egg) at alfresco Birba.

Amin Casa.

Experience true luxury at Amin Casa, a historic hotel located on the former stomping grounds of glamorous on-screen legends like Gloria Swanson. Enjoy top-notch service as well as residences and bungalows that have fully functional kitchens, ideal for homemade meals for two. Or connect with nature at Sparrows Lodge, where poolside rooms feature queen-sized beds, open showers, unique artwork, and private patios. Reconnect with the Two Birds Couples Massage in an open-air tent designed to make you feel like part of the surrounding gardens.
Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs not only lures guests to its hip, sun-drenched rooms and elevated seventh floor pool (against a stunning mountain backdrop), but it is also home to 4 Saints, where you can cap off day one in a rooftop, lantern-lit environment. (Feeling extra adventurous? Check out the “Rowan Run Away” elopement package!) When hunger strikes, head to Norma’s — a bright, open-air terrace restaurant set in the lavish gardens of the Parker — for an extravagant breakfast menu served 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Day Two: Making Beautiful Memories
It’s exploration time. Whether you choose to get swept away on a hot air balloon excursion with Balloons Above, cuddle under the stars with Palm Springs Stargazing, or to wander surrounding terrain on foot, outdoor adventures await.

Mt San Jacinto.

Take to the trail with a day hike, where options range from Indian Canyons’ casual, two-mile hike, Andreas Canyon Trail, to more advanced explorations like Murray Canyon Trail, which features Seven Sisters Waterfall, a series of cascades that make the perfect backdrop for an intimate picnic. Or get lost with your favorite person among the otherworldly beauty of Mt San Jacinto State Park’s 54 miles of trails accessed through the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
Day Three: Getting Wined and Dined
Round out your stay with a day of indulgence. Begin by transporting to the South of France at Farm Palm Springs, where you can enjoy decadent patio breakfasts—think sweet and savory crepes alongside French-press coffee. Later on, dive into conversation under the sprawling tree limbs of Spencer’s Restaurant, a local institution serving some of the best seafood around.

Truss and Twine.

For libations, sip singular cocktails with bright citrus flavor at speakeasy Seymour’s, or settle into an afternoon of wine tasting at Jamala Wines Tasting Room. Linger over a bottle at V Wine Lounge, where bold reds are best enjoyed with charcuterie boards, fresh fruit, and thick slices of cheese. End your evening with a luxurious yet intimate meal at upscale spot Truss & Twine or Miro’s, where the cuisine is inspired by Mediterranean and Central European recipes and complemented by rare wines from Austria, Croatian Islands, and Bosnia Herzegovina.
When to Fly South
There’s no bad time to hang your (sun) hat in Palm Springs. You’ll find the best value during a Sunday through Thursday trip when the hotels and vacation rentals offer enticing mid-week rates. Fly in non-stop to the Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) just minutes away from downtown and uptown.
