Siletz Bay

At Salishan Coastal Lodge, wide-open spaces, fresh air, forested trails, and the scenic Pacific Ocean and Siletz Bay welcome you. There has never been a better time to connect with nature and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Oregon Coast than now.

Only a two-hour drive from Portland, Salishan is located just off the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway (Route 101) in Gleneden Beach. First opened in 1965, the lodge was the vision of its founder and native Oregonian John Gray, who wanted to create a haven on the stunning Central Oregon Coast. Architect John Storrs realized his dream with the original lodge featuring locally sourced wood and stone, natural light, and harmony with the surrounding Oregon landscape. Since then, Salishan has transformed its nearly 200-acre property into an eco-friendly destination with a little something for everyone.

Looking for adventure? Guests can soar high above the forest canopy at the Aerial Park or ride mountain bikes on the new pump track. If breathing in the fresh air of the Pacific Ocean is on the priority list, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards can be rented nearby for visitors to traverse the Siletz Bay.

Feel like exploring? Guests can take leisurely nature walks along the miles of Gleneden Beach trails surrounding the lodge. They also can opt to challenge themselves with a hike to Cascade Head, travel the pathways of the Oregon Coast Trail, or trek six miles along the rocky promontories on the Lincoln Beach Hike to Fishing Rock. With the beach nearby, guests also can surf or stroll along the shores, sink their toes into the soft sand, and listen to the sound of crashing waves.

Looking for activities to enjoy together? Play a round of golf on Salishan’s fabled Peter Jacobsen-designed 18-hole links, where golfers find themselves surrounded by old-growth trees and seaside bluffs at every turn. The lawn is also open for old-fashioned family games or simply enjoying s’mores by the fire.

One of the most magical things about staying at Salishan is guests remain connected to the outdoors while wrapped in the lodge indoors. All of the rooms are bathed in warm, natural light so you feel rested during the day and sleep better at night. And every room has a private balcony with views of towering Douglas firs or the tranquil Siletz Bay, bringing the soul-stirring outdoors inside.

All the food offered at Salishan is healthy, fresh, and locally sourced, further boosting mood and spirit. Options include to-go breakfasts at the Provisions market or lunch or dinner at The Attic Bar & Lounge. There is seating inside and outside the restaurant, with tables six feet apart in keeping with current best practices, along with plenty of spaces around the property to enjoy meals picnic-style, including the new sun deck. Sit back, relax, eat, and enjoy the views.

Whether planning a weeklong vacation or a weekend escape, Salishan offers simple but spacious rooms, with crackling wood fireplaces and connecting rooms for the family. The Deluxe and Premier rooms offer more space and furnishings than the Traditional rooms, while the Signature Suites offer private patios, dining rooms, living areas, and an en-suite hot tub for two.

Rest assured, Salishan has introduced new health, safety, and cleanliness protocols throughout the property so guests can relax during their stay knowing the property is doing everything they can to protect their guests. Salishan also understands their guests need to be flexible during this time and will waive all cancellation and resort fees through June 30. The Coast is Clear offer is their most flexible summer offer. Save 15 percent off your stay, with no charges up front and cancellation fees waived up to three days before your arrival date.

We all need to relax and unwind right now. Stay at Salishan and refresh your mind, body, and soul.
