The Wedge Returns!

Celebrate cheese and everything that goes with it at Alder Block in Portland's Central Eastside.

Presented by Oregon Cheese Guild September 15, 2022

After nearly three years of modified and virtual events, The Wedge is back in person! This year’s event will take place Saturday, September 24 from noon to 5pm at Alder Block, home of the Portland Night Market. More than 50 vendors will fill the indoor and outdoor spaces, and rain or shine, guests are invited to peruse not only cheese, but all of the tasty things that go with it: charcuterie, chocolates, jams and jellies, nut butters, and adult libations, including wine, spirits, and cider.  For 2022, attendance is limited to cheese lovers 21 and over.

Cheesemakers coming to this year’s event include Appel Farms, Beehive Cheese Company, Briar Rose Creamery, Cascadia Creamery, Daniel's Artisan Cheese, Don Froylan Creamery, Face Rock Creamery, Ferndale Farmstead, Portland Creamery, Rivers Edge Chevre, Rogue Creamery, Tillamook, Twin Sisters Creamery, and Willamette Valley Cheese Co.

This year’s lineup of producers reads like an all-star cast of Oregon’s specialty food scene. Some highlights are Albina City Nuts, Cracker King, Eliot’s Nut Butters, Honey Mama’s, Kelly’s Jelly, Marshall’s Haute Sauce, Mt. Hope Farms, Portland Syrups, Ranger Chocolate, Rose City Pepperheads, and Smith Tea, just to name a few.

To wash it all down, more than a dozen craft wine, cider, and spirits producers will be pouring libations for the crowd. For a full list of vendors, see the website.

Tickets are $20 in advance and include all cheese, food, and non-alcoholic beverage samples. A wine/cider/spirits add-on tasting is $15 and includes a commemorative tasting glass. At-the-door admission is $25/food and $15/bev add-on.

Attendees eager to beat the crowds can pre-purchase Early VIP Entry (11am) for an additional $20; this includes a goodie bag. Tickets are available for sale here.

The Wedge would not be possible without the generous support of the Oregon Dairy and Nutrition Council, Tillamook, Effie's Homemade, New Seasons Market, Market of Choice, Whole Foods, and the cheesemakers of the Oregon Cheese Guild.
