My People’s Market kicks off 5th birthday celebration November 19-20

My People’s Market is turning 5 with a celebration on Saturday and Sunday, November 19 and 20 at the Oregon Convention Center.
The spirit of the market celebrates community, culture, and business while reimagining ways to support local multicultural entrepreneurs with broader exposure to grow and support their businesses.

The unique shopping opportunity features more than 140 local BIPOC makers, merchants, artists, and crafters, offering an array of products, from apparel and accessories for both adults and children, to books, stationery and art, to home goods and skincare.
The celebration will include free birthday cupcakes and door prizes all weekend long (while supplies last), a wellness lounge, and activities for all ages.

Relax and recharge
The Wellness Retreat at My People’s Market will deliver healing vibes all market long: enjoy free mini- sessions from 12 pm to 4 pm each day with a healing arts practitioner or a licensed acupuncturist. Discover a wealth of beauty, skincare and botanical products as well from vendors throughout the market.
A culturally immersive and safe shopping experience
The two-day market presents musical performances, a rotating cast of DJs, and delicious food and beverages from across the globe.
Latino artists exchange IDEALPDX will provide crafting workshops.
Vanport Mosaic’s pop-up museum, intended to be accessible to people of different ages and backgrounds, presents the multifaceted story of Vanport and its vibrant community, a story of migration, housing, displacement, and perseverance.
The Oregon Convention Center location offers a spacious, indoor and safe space for marketgoers of color and allies to shop local and support BIPOC businesses at My People’s Market.

About the Market
Launched in November 2017 as a collaborative event with Travel Portland and Prosper Portland, My People's Market grew from a desire to create pathways for entrepreneurs of color to connect with the travel industry and new market opportunities. Sponsored by New Seasons Market, YGB, Travel Portland and Prosper Portland.

Location and hours
Oregon Convention Center Exhibit Hall A, 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Portland. Convention Center parking; accessible via light rail Blue, Green, and Red lines; Portland Street Car A, B Loop; and TriMet bus lines: 6, 8, 77. The OCC provides free bike racks on both levels of the parking garage and outside all main building entrances. Bicycle parking is free in all areas.
