Mt Angel Oktoberfest – a Touch of Bavaria

Celebrate the best of Bavarian traditions at Mt Angel Oktoberfest, where locals and visitors come together to celebrate the harvest.

Presented by Mt. Angel Oktoberfest August 10, 2023

Experience traditional German food, dance, music, and much more at Mt Angel Oktoberfest. Walk the streets surrounded by lively German polkas.  Cruise the 45 nonprofit food booths for your favorite sausage or bratwurst, add kraut if you like.  Enjoy creamy fondue, perhaps with a pretzel. Choose between a schnitzel, a Berliner spiced pork, or Rueben sandwiches. Dessert awaits as a piece of German chocolate or apple cake with butter topping. Wash down all these tasty treats with an imported pilsner or Marzen Festbier. There is a wide selection of food and beverages to suit everyone’s tastes.

Get ready to polka and chicken dance at the bandstand. Enjoy the live performances from the Tirolean dancers, Engelberg Dance Troupe, and the local school children performing traditional dances. Listen to the magical sounds of alphorns at St Mary Church or an interactive show with cowbells in the Alpinegarten. In the evening move to one of the premium venues for lively biergarten dance tunes and fun performances.

The town fills with people in their lederhosen and beautiful dirndls. Some wear alpine hats with a gamsbart waving from the crown, many young heads wear flower wreaths. Join in the annual fun and start a collection with a new hat pin or choose a stein to take home.
