Breweries:
With Oregon known for its array of Northwest-style ales, there are multiple places for beer lovers to not only sample new brews but also delve into some hearty Pacific eats. Buoy Beer is one of Astoria’s most iconic breweries and is known not only for its array of rotating ales and lagers on draft, but also for its family-friendly atmosphere that boasts a menu of rockfish and chips, oysters, and classic pub food like soft pretzels and burgers. Fort George Brewery, Astoria Brewing Company, Breakside Brewery, Obelisk Beer Co., and Reach Break Brewing are also popular destinations with delicious food and drinks, many sourced with local ingredients.
Bottle Shops:
For those who have spent the day exploring nature and want to grab some bottles to take back to their accommodations, visit one of the area’s bottle shops or taprooms for bottles or growlers to-go of local favorites. Bridge & Tunnel Bottleshop & Taproom features 22 rotating taps and a curated selection of beer, wine, and cider. The Growler Guys features beverages – beer, kombucha, and ciders – from all around Oregon and Washington. Fortune & Glory Cider Company is Astoria’s first and only hard cider manufacturer and features English pub-style ciders and Belgian farmhouse-style ciders on tap or in cans.
Cafés and Restaurants:
Foodies unite! There are so many different mouthwatering restaurants and cafés that are unlike any other in the world. Many of the area restaurants are located in beautifully restored and repurposed historic buildings with wide-open views of the water, but what they’re serving from the kitchen is just as exciting. Fedé, Astoria’s newest Italian dining destination, features house-made pasta, craft cocktails. South Bay Wild Fish House is owned by a fishing family that supplies the restaurant with fresh-caught seafood from their own boat. For seafood lovers, this place can’t be missed. Enjoy delectable items like crab cakes, dover sole banh mi sandwiches, crispy scallops, prawns, or rockfish. Arnie’s Café has everything you need for an unforgettable breakfast – cinnamon rolls, eggs Benedict, chicken-fried steak, and more. For a treat, visit Yummy Lu’s for a sweet or salty snack, like candies and caramel corn to enjoy while you walk down Astoria’s historical pier 39.
Food Carts:
Several food cart pods have popped up on Oregon’s North Coast with a smorgasbord of flavors throughout Astoria and Warrenton. Minutes from Warrenton’s campgrounds, you can choose from places like Trina and Ron’s Place for burgers, a kielbasa skillet, or a chicken fried patty melt, Nee’s Asian Fusion, or grab authentic Mexican tacos from Mayo’s Taqueria. You can even enjoy fresh Willapa Bay oysters from Atelier SBYC.
No matter what you’re craving, Astoria and Warrenton have it all.
