The Holidays
Begin your journey in each neighborhood at the ”holiday story window” and experience the wonder that local craftspeople and artists have designed for your viewing delight. Each window is inspired by the area’s local small businesses.
The New Year
The Window Stories will continue in the New Year! In February 2024, the Window Stories will change over to celebrate the Winter Light Festival, bringing beauty and light to each street. Alisha Sullivan, executive director of Portland Winter Light Festival says, "We are thrilled to see local businesses participating in the Portland Winter Light Festival and supporting our mission to use light-based art to invigorate Portland in the winter. The neighborhood districts are so vibrant, and the collaboration between retailers, artists, and people out exploring shows Portland at its very best and most creative."
All Year
The Window Stories will inspire you to return throughout the year to visit the local shops or restaurants that you’ve fallen in love with. Discover gems in each neighborhood or community and continue supporting the local business owners who are the backbone of our city and state economy.
Portlanders love their neighborhoods and communities and Shop Small PDX Winter Window Stories are the perfect way for families and individuals to share a uniquely Portland experience this winter. After enjoying each window installation, take some time to walk around the neighborhood – stop into local shops, grab a bite to eat at a new restaurant, or warm up with a warm beverage or sweet treat from a local coffee shop or bakery.
Portland is full of wonderful communities that are just waiting to be discovered. Which window will you see first?
