Molalla: Real Adventure, Real People, Real Fun!

For those itching for the company of more trees than people, the Molalla River Recreation Area has year-round adventures, from camping at Three Bears and Cedar Grove campgrounds to hiking, mountain biking and even horseback riding its over 20 miles of trails. Molalla’s city parks offer even more ways to enjoy the outdoors. Long Park boasts the newest amenity, a three-court pickleball complex, and Ivor Davies Park offers a nine-hole disc golf course. Brightly-colored Strawberry Park provides an excellent (fall-protected) experience for the tots, and Fox Park has a splash pad for kiddos needing to cool off.
Kids will also enjoy visiting stops on the South Clackamas Farm Loop, where they can feed new friends at Alpacas at Marquam Hill Ranch, savor ice cream from Lady Lane Farm’s creamery, and pet-friendly goats at Out in the Garden.
Adrenaline seekers: Freefall over 14,500 feet on a tandem jump with Skydive Oregon and visit veteran and woman-owned Fair Winds and Flying Axes to sharpen ax-throwing skills.
Experience the city’s rich culture through iconic events, including the 4th of July Parade and Molalla Buckeroo rodeo, the year-round Molalla Farmers Market, and the annual summertime Celebrate Molalla Festival, bustling with vendors, activities, and music.
Even if you miss the festivities, Molalla’s locally owned restaurants and shops are ready to entertain, such as Cowboy Coffee at Prairie House Inn, Molalla River Brewing Company with miniature golf and food trucks and Roots and Roads Boutique selling locally made products, including from Cowgirl Trading Company.
