Free Live Music on Tap at Bridgeport Village
Whether relaxing beneath covered canopies while taking a break from shopping or simply enjoying outdoor dining, visitors to Bridgeport Village can revel in musical performances held on the newly installed Village Green. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from June 15 through September 1, the destination lifestyle center, which borders both Tigard and Tualatin, is hosting prominent local and visiting artists on its community stage, sending layered melodies lilting through the air.
“Every season brings a fresh adventure to Bridgeport Village, and this summer, we’re delighted to bring back our well-received ‘Live Music on the Village Green’ series as we welcome guests to our newly refreshed destination,” said Elena Arosteguy, general manager of Bridgeport Village.
Here is the complete schedule for the Bridgeport Village Live Music Series.
From the folk-rock duo of Katalyst and the dynamic sounds of the Courtney Freed Trio to Portland’s own singer, songwriter, and guitar-player Pilar French, June has the weekends filled with pleasant sounds.
Likewise, the July schedule is jam-packed with talent. The Cider Janes, three friends who decided to polish their skills during the pandemic, spotlight some toe-tapping covers. Joseph Dane brings romantic strains of Latin rhythms to the stage, while Sparrow Wren croons rock-and-roll blues. Closing out the month, Portland-based Evan Churchill sings and plays the guitar and trumpet.
As summer winds down, Bridgeport Village guests will want to take every minute to enjoy August’s festivities. Jazz aficionados won’t want to miss saxophonist Eldon T. Johns, who has refined his own style of gospel and soul. Thirteen-year-old soloist Gus Jeffers plays multiple instruments as he presents his signature pop and R&B. Any Given Session, a Portland band, intertwines its version of rock, soul, funk, and Americana.
In addition to the all-ages performances, young ones have their own unique performances with “Summer Saturdays Kids Concerts.” Young families are invited to enjoy top Portland children’s musicians and vocalists from noon to 2 p.m. in July and August. In July, Grammy-nominated artist Lori Henriques sings original songs, some of which have garnered her Parents’ Choice Gold Awards. Red Yarn (aka Andy Furgeson) delights kiddos with his music and puppetry in August, providing an entertaining break from a back-to-school shopping run.
“We invite the community to stop by for outdoor entertainment at our park-like Village Green and enjoy our elevated amenities and gathering places for all ages to experience,” added Arosteguy.
With CenterCal Properties’ refresh of Bridgeport Village now complete, shoppers have ample options from which to choose when the music starts on stage. Guests are welcome to bring blankets to sit on the grass or to convene at one of the picnic tables adjacent to the new nature-inspired play area. Or, they can lay claim to one of the new pavilions branching out from the Village Green for dining al fresco.
Although summer often brings sunshine, temperatures in the Pacific Northwest can sometimes run a little cool. At Bridgeport Village, guests can sit under the canopies, cozy up to fire tables, and enjoy the warmth provided by heated patios and retractable wind screens.
With something new happening at Bridgeport Village throughout the year, visitors are invited to return again and again. Each trip to the shopping center is sure to lead guests on a discovery of new events, restaurants, stores, and experiences.
