United States Tennis Association Pacific Northwest Inspires Healthier People and Communities

USTA PNW is growing the game of tennis to inspire healthier people and more connected communities across the region, while also instilling leadership and sportsmanship. Founded in 1904, the Beaverton-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization aims to make tennis accessible and affordable for all through a variety of initiatives across the Pacific Northwest – from youth and adult programs at regional tennis centers, to after-school and summer offerings through RecTennis programs, to community outreach, leadership and coaching development, and inclusive programming.
Named a top workplace in 2024, the organization represents over 1.3 million tennis enthusiasts and supports more than 200 tennis facilities across Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and parts of Idaho. Through its low-cost RecTennis programs, USTA PNW brings tennis to over 40,000 participants in afterschool and summer parks settings, fostering lifelong fitness, teamwork, and leadership. USTA PNW’s extensive network of 300+ community partners, including schools, public parks, and recreational spaces, underscores its commitment to diversity, inclusion, and community impact.
"As the largest employer of recreational tennis jobs in the Pacific Northwest, USTA PNW annually engages over 400 full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff, creating meaningful opportunities in the communities we serve,” said China Kirk, USTA PNW Chief Operating Officer. “At USTA PNW, we believe tennis is more than a game — it’s a powerful tool for transforming lives, promoting wellness, and building stronger, healthier communities.”
RecTennis invites participants of all ages and skill levels to get involved! In its commitment to serve love and remove financial barriers to participate in its programs across the Pacific Northwest, the organization offers scholarships, too.
Shared Renée Gordon, USTA PNW Chief Advancement Officer, “Every dollar we raise and all proceeds are reinvested into our programs and scholarships, ensuring tennis remains accessible to all in our community.”

Elece Fiocchi, USTA PNW Managing Director of Provider Relations shared, "At its core, the RecTennis journey is about access, opportunity, and personal growth. It often starts with a simple moment — trying tennis for the first time in a local park or school gym — and then has the potential to develop into something much bigger. From participant to instructor, from teammate to coach, there are countless examples of young people building confidence, skills, and a deep connection to the game through this pathway."
