Pirouettes in Portland and beyond

Oregon’s largest professional ballet company attracts artists and audiences from around the country. Each performance brings thousands to Portland’s downtown, supporting local hotels, restaurants, and shops. December’s beloved production of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® is the largest annual ticketed performance in the state, drawing more than 45,000 people to Portland’s Keller Auditorium.

This season, OBT expands its reach through a new partnership with the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts in Beaverton and extended touring of the second company through the Pacific Northwest.

“It is critical, now more than ever, that arts organizations proactively reach new audiences,” says Executive Director Shane Jewell. “This is just the beginning.”

Timeless tales vividly retold

OBT’s 2025-26 season is curated by one of the most exciting choreographic voices in the field, Artistic Director Dani Rowe. “The world can feel uncertain, and this season offers what I call familiar fantasy: timeless stories that audiences love, reimagined with the level of artistic integrity and vibrancy that OBT guarantees,” she says.
