Summer on Sauvie Island draws people out of the city, and Topaz Farm gives them a reason to stay awhile. The working, regenerative farm offers a lineup of summer evening events, including a live music series, Saturday farm-to-plate dinners, and a slate of Wednesday nights built around its Make, Taste or Unwind series.

From July through September, the 2026 season features its strongest live music lineup yet, with internationally touring artists including Allen Stone & The Dip, Blind Pilot, Joy Oladokun, and Molly Tuttle. Performances take place in a meadow surrounded by wildflowers, where guests bring blankets and lawn chairs, enjoy fresh grilled farm food and drinks, and settle in as the sun drops behind the fields.

The farm-to-plate dinners, running June through September, offer a more intimate counterpoint. Long tables are set beneath a 500-year-old oak tree, where guests are served a seasonal five-course meal shaped by what’s being harvested that week. For the past six years, resident chefs Christian and Janelle Ephrem, whose background includes Michelin-starred kitchens, have led the dinners with a focus on letting peak-season ingredients speak for themselves.

Menus shift constantly, giving each dinner a sense of immediacy that reflects the farm in real time, from peak summer vegetables to local pasture-raised meats.

The Make, Taste or Unwind series adds a third way to engage, with rotating Wednesday night programming that leans hands-on, seasonal, and low-key. Guests might find themselves braiding garlic, weaving or dyeing textiles, building bouquets with farm-grown flowers, or settling in for a Silent Reading Night beneath the same oak tree that anchors the farm dinners. Other evenings focus on food and drink, with sessions like pickling, jamming, and fermentation, while bird walks, and sunflower evenings at sunset offer a slower pace.
