History enthusiasts of all ages, unite! Explore the rich history of Cannon Beach at the 23^rd annual Cottage Tour Weekend, returning September 11-13, 2026. Providing a peek into some of Cannon Beach’s most charming cottages, this unique fundraiser for the Cannon Beach History Center & Museum brings the area’s stories alive. This year’s walking tour features a beautiful collection of homes across the area’s Midtown neighborhood, with several others along the Presidential Streets area.

Liz Scott, executive director of the Cannon Beach History Center & Museum, shared, “Our mission is to preserve and share the history of Cannon Beach, and the Cannon Beach Cottage Tour allows us to do that in a unique way by connecting visitors with the homes, architecture, and stories that have shaped our community."

To kick off the weekend, join the Opening Night Benefit Bash at the Museum on September 11 from 5:30 to 8pm. Here, guests can experience live music by the RJ Marx Jazz Trio while feasting on an array of mouthwatering food and beverages from local businesses including Rainy Day Boards & Bakery, Cannon Beach Chocolate Café, The Wayfarer Restaurant, The Wine Shack, and Pelican Brewing Company. A silent auction will also be available. Admission is by donation.

The highlight of the weekend happens on September 12, featuring the self-guided tour of homes from 12-5pm. To protect homeowner privacy, tour maps will be distributed beginning at noon on Saturday at the Cannon Beach History Center & Museum. Maps will not be distributed before the tour begins. A complimentary shuttle is available, conveniently escorting customers along the tour route.

Lorraine Hopper, outreach coordinator at the Cannon Beach History Center & Museum, said, “This event reminds me of HGTV! Every home has its own personality, and it's so much fun to see the different styles while learning the stories behind each one."

To wrap up the weekend fun, artists of all skill levels are invited to put paintbrush to canvas at a one-of-a-kind watercolor workshop led by artist and science illustrator Nora Sherwood. Happening on Sunday, September 13 at either 11am or 1pm, participants can create a watercolor painting inspired by a Cannon Beach cottage using historic black-and-white photographs provided by the museum. All materials are provided. Workshop tickets are $50 per person, and space is extremely limited.
