Festival Favorite Returns to the Pearl District Labor Day Weekend
Portland’s Art In The Pearl Fine Arts & Crafts Festival is a top national art festival produced each year by twenty dedicated volunteer board members, all working artists and professionals in their craft. The distinctly artist-run event is committed to arts stewardship and reaches out to the community through Art, Education, and Entertainment. Art In The Pearl’s Labor Day weekend festival has been a long-time favorite in Portland as the perfect destination to gather and celebrate the end of summer.
If you are new to Portland or have never attended the event, Art In The Pearl is Portland’s largest outdoor art fair, drawing thousands of people to its beautiful location under a canopy of trees. Located on two park blocks within the Pearl District, accomplished artists from around the United States and Canada are selected from a rigorous jury selection process. Over 140 accomplished artists are around to greet the public, present and sell their art, and discuss their process and inspiration. It is a great opportunity to view and acquire high-quality fine art and craft in a wide variety of mediums.
As in years past, the festival is in Portland’s iconic NW Park Blocks, situated between NW Davis & NW Flanders streets. The festival perimeter is gated to maintain a safe attendance, and the event is free to all ages. Artist demonstrations and a Hands-On Art Pavilion area invite children and families to engage in art activities. A local Belly dance troop performs for the opening and closing ceremonies, a festival tradition, and roving musicians circulate throughout the 3-day event. A unique selection of local food booths returns to the festival so visitors can enjoy refreshments while attending the event.
Art In The Pearl Fine Arts & Craft Festival has been Portland’s treasured art-focused event and destination for over 30 years. With its unique urban park location, combined with first-rate talents and educational opportunities, the event allows festival visitors an authentic connection to the world of art and artists' making.
