If you’re coming from the north, stop at local favorite Creswell Bakery to fuel up with their breakfast, made entirely in-house. They have sandwiches on brioche and ciabatta as well as breakfast pockets, perfect for on-the-go adventurers. And don’t forget to stock up on pastries, snacks and lunch sandwiches so you can picnic at the base of a waterfall!

Brice Creek Road Cluster

1. Brice Creek Falls

The first falls you’ll come across in this area is Brice Creek Falls. The trail begins at the Cedar Creek Campground, and the .3-mile trek is rated easy for hikers. From here, you can continue on to both Trestle Creek Falls, or head back to the car and start those from the Trestle Creek Trailhead to keep the way home shorter.

2. Lower Trestle Creek Falls

The trail to the lower falls is a .75-mile trail that winds through the forest and is popular with families. This two-tiered falls peaks with snowmelt but flows year-round, keeping the surrounding area green.

3. Upper Trestle Creek Falls

Continue on past Lower Trestle Creek Falls on a more challenging 2.5 miles of trail that leads you around and directly behind the waterfall. The small pool at the bottom and plenty of trailside rocks make this a perfect place for a snack break.

Layng Creek Road Cluster

4. Moon Falls

Start at Moon Falls, a half mile from the trailhead. Moon Falls navigates a craggy rock face with multiple tiers, making it ever-changing based on how much water is flowing.

5. Spirit Falls

This 40 to 60-foot fall is a veil in the summer and a roaring cascade during snowmelt. The hike to the bottom is .6 miles.

6. Pinard Falls

This narrow falls plunges 105 feet before pooling at the bottom in a rocky creek bed. The picnic table and bench provide a view of the waterfall, perfect for a lunch break. The trail is short (.6 miles) but steep and rated difficult.

These areas are outside of cell service, and many trails are unsigned. Be sure to bring a map on your adventures!

Cottage Grove is the ideal home base for exploring these waterfalls. After a day of hiking, have dinner at Jack Sprats, Coast Fork Brewing, or Bohemian Tavern. You can also see them by bicycle, riding Oregon’s family-friendly Covered Bridge Scenic Bikeway.
