Holiday Fashion at Crave

Jewel tones, mix-and-match vintage, and classic topcoats

Desireé Gregg, Ashley Hodges, and Carol Burke found strength in numbers at the Crave event, where Hodges’s electric-blue suede boots stood out in the crowd. “Aren’t they great? I found them on eBay.”

“A gift for you, a gift for me…” That was the mantra favored by shoppers at Crave’s annual holiday shopping party, held on December 3 at the Luxe Autohaus in Northeast Portland. And why not? With such a covetable mix of apparel and accessories from local boutiques to choose from—all at up to 60 percent off—it made perfect sense to indulge both oneself and loved ones in one festive fell swoop. Greenloop, Frock, and Sameunderneath were just a few of the shops that took part in the swellegant affair, where this year’s focus was on green-themed goods. Highlights of the evening included SakeOne’s Gingered Pom Sakétinis and a high-energy fashion show headlined by Gypsy Chic boutique.

Portland Monthly style editor Jill Spitznass and staff photographer Kim Oanh Nguyen dropped in at the event, where they found that holiday style—and a colorful scarf—was as prevalent on shoppers as it was on sale racks.
