THERE’S A REASON high-heeled boots have maintained their traction in the fashion world: few wardrobe items manage to combine a classic’s staying power with undeniable allure. Catherine Deneuve, Naomi Campbell, and Sienna Miller are just a few of the stylish A-listers who’ve made the footwear’s utilitarian-yet-sexy vibe part of their iconic look. Libby Hartung, owner of Zelda’s Shoe Bar on NW 23rd Avenue, suggests investing in the lofty style for its closet-maximizing ability. “A high-heeled boot gives a dress far more attitude than a sandal or pump ever could,” says Hartung. “They’re also great for weekends or dates; just tuck your jeans in and go.”
