Uncommon Jewels
I am pretty much the ultimate cliché of the girly-girl (minus the fact that I own my own drill and can dodge and weave in the boxing ring pretty well). But I really love jewelry. Sliding on a giant cocktail ring makes me feel like Wonder Woman and the perfect pair of earrings can turn my shuffle to a strut. It kind of floors me how much accessory talent we have in this town and tomorrow night several are meeting up to form a conglomeration. Uncommon Jewels will be throwing down at the Olympic Mills Building. Red Slate Wine Company is hosting a bar for the guests and there is free gift wrapping in case you don’t carry the Martha Stewart gene. Designers present include: Amy Bengston with some ultra-mod geometric earrings, Alisha Louise with an art deco-nouveau collection, Lauren Harkness with a new twist on the charm bracelet, Sahlia Michelle with all kinds of dangly perfections, Stone & Honey with distinctive necklaces made from agates and hand cut silver motifs, Grayling who knows what chunky chain necklaces are all about and Betsy & Iya whose Chevron Drip earrings are my newest must-have. It’s a whole lot of bling in one room; you might want to bring some protective eyewear. Safety first.
