Nom & Ada

Pdx + Tokyo + Parsons = Shoes

The Holoholo

Portland has us a new shoe connection in town. Nom & Ada is a mash up of Portland designer Kimberly Andrade and Tokyo based designer Rie Sawai. The two girls met in school at Parson’s and years after graduation a reunion trip to Hawaii (half way between their homes) brewed the idea to start a bi-continental biz together. The first offspring from this collaboration came about this month in the form of the Holoholo, a moccasin style sandal handcrafted in Japan. It’s a super cute, casual little guy that has me longing for spaghetti strap sundresses and maybe even some rolled up seer sucker pants. Hurry up summer; I’ve got a new sandal I want to try.
