Available at:Sephora

Hey Vogue lovers (the dance, not the mag), if you have a good dose of patience and a steady hand, use some lazy summer leisure hours to recreate one of these fanciful manicure ideas. Or if you’re in the camp who can’t color in the lines and are in need of pampering, go to your favorite salon with your inspiration.

Designers might focus on clothes first, but good ones leave no detail to chance, including nails. Missoni, D Squared, Jason Wu, Karen Walker, Milly, Alexander McQueen, Jen Kao, etc., sent manicured models down the runway with styles like ombres, reverse French manicures, complex monotone-prints, geometric shapes, stripes, glitter galore, vintage chartreuse green, soft nudes, and the return of classic reds.

DIY tutorial videos can be found online at youtube, Refinery 29 (for the Illamasqua day-glo manicure), and Sephora (for the caviar manicure). And as if you didn’t have enough options, Sally Hansen also offers numerous patterned nail strips, a nearly error-proof easy method of getting with it.

Get nails as loud as you want, just don’t give yourself a perm, chew gum, and change your name to Snooki (unless you want to move to Jersey).
