Two years ago Megan Hart launched her online boutique Summerland with the idea of carefully curating collections of pretty things from small designers around the world, local favorites and select vintage. This weekend, that boutique grows beyond its e-site into a full-fledged brick and mortar store.

With her exquisite taste in gathering items like Temperly studded dresses, T.B.A. apparel, Catbird candles, and tote bags with quotes from Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks screen-printed on them it makes perfect sense while Summerland chose the 811 E Burnside building for their first storefront. The eclectic building of independently owned businesses with crazy cool goods seems like the perfect place for this equally chic shop to get going.

Stop by the Summerland Grand Opening Party this Friday from 5-9pm during the building's monthly First Friday fest for champagne cocktails featuring Bitter Tears, exclusive discounts and a chance to win up to $150 to spend in the shop.
