With deep roots in the Peruvian community, local clothing lines Silvania and Lift Label teemed up with some of their pals to throw a fun bash tonight at the Ecotrust building in early celebration of Peruvian Independence day. The event sold out days ago, but thanks to the kindness of designers Georgia Kirkpatrick and Bobby Bonaparte, the first 20 Shop Talk readers to get this can register for FREE tickets to tonight’s event by clicking here (after 10am). 

What precisely is that Peruvian party tonight all about you ask? It’s a party with a purpose. Lift Label and Silvania pride themselves on being social enterprises with social and environmental goals woven into the businesses, and this time it’s partnering with CARE Peru. Began in 1953 to increase access to education and healthcare for rural communities across Peru, CARE specifically encourages the important role of educating girls to create thriving communities (sponsoring girls like Eulalia).  All proceeds from tonight's event will go to this worthy organization.  Please visit their website (in Spanish)here and the Pisco for Peru fundraising page (in English) here to learn more.

In addition to the fashion entertainment, attendees will boogie the night away with music from (Peruvian born) Martin Zazaar and his seven-piece band. He might look familiar from his 10 years with Pink Martini in addition to his solo album (on iTunes). Food and cocktails will be on site from Las Primas. Spanish for "the cousins," the North Williams restaurant of real-life cousins Catalina Acuña and Sadie Morrison serve food inspired by the flavorful street food of bustling Lima.

The party takes place on the third floor terrace of the Jean Vollum Natural Capital Center (the Ecotrust building) at 721 NW Ninth Ave tonight (July 18) between 7 and 10 pm, so reserve one of those spots this second!
