OPENINGS

The Annex Opening Party
Saturday, November 7, 6pm
4018 N Mississippi Ave

Animal Traffic continues their rugged domination over the city by opening The Annex, a footwear boutique focused on carrying American-made items known for quality—think Danner, Red Wing Heritage, and Woolrich’s new, designed-in-Portland, shoe line.

See the new shiny shoe space ahead of the pack at the opening bash on Saturday, November 7. Not only is it the west coast launch for the first footwear line from Woolrich, the company will be on hand to give away boots to guys and gals all night long while drinks flow from Bull Run Distillery.

PARTIES

Solestruck Costume Party
Thursday, Oct 30, 8 pm
Church
2600 NE Sandy Blvd

Portland's funnest shoe store promises a feast for the eyes with a costume-required celebration on Thursday, October 30. Marking both All Hallows Eve and the third anniversary of their Blackbox building flagship store, the gang has reason to celebrate. Held at Church (the bar, not the religious building), the requisite drinks and dancing are guaranteed alongside a costume competition with the top five picks getting first entry into their annual sample sale and the top two scoring $200 credit towards Solestruck.com.

One programming note from the staff, “You're not getting in without a costume on so come dressed up.”

You have been warned.

AWARDS

Portland Fashion & Style Awards
Sunday, November 9, 5 pm
Portland Art Museum
1219 SW Park Ave

Whether we need a fashion related awards show no longer seems to be the question. The PFSA are returning for a third year and seem determined to stay. While the show seems to have some programming issues (example: I was nominated for Best Fashion Show Producer this time around though I haven’t touched a show in nearly two years and similar situations have slipped through in the past), but the goodwill for honoring hard work seems well placed. Judge for yourself what you think of the scene at the red carpet affair on November 9 with emcee Daniel Baldwin (who evidently must love Portland fashion?).

For full details head to the PFSA site to see all the nominees and snag tickets.
