Slide Show: Altar's Bohemian Spring Sheers
Spring is upon us, but that doesn’t mean we have to loosen the clutches on our beloved black clothing. It does mean, however, that we need to update the fabrics. Enter Altar’s new line of spring/summer women’s wear with layers of sheer dresses and separates in uniform black, boho prints, and a pop of bold green. The first line for the brand formerly known as Mag-Big, designer Cassie Ridgeway (along with production manager Rachel Rasmussen) describes how the textile inspired the pieces, “Nearly all pieces are sheer, billowy fabrics with incredible, luscious softness. We also dialed in our print and color story with this collection to reflect a dark, bohemian edge. The idea is to have more volume in the garment, with silhouette shown through the sheer fabric.” Flip through the new lookbook here to window shop the affordable, locally made line with price running from $55 for a simple summer shift to $120 for lovely silks individually hand dip-dyed.
