For the second year in a road the NW Natural Street of Dreams takes design up a level incorporating a party into the mix. On Tuesday August 11, not only can guests tour the multi-million dollar homes in Lake Oswego for aspirational ideas, there’s a one night only ladies night that benefits the Professional Women in Building Council’s scholarship fund. Spas and salons will be on hand to pamper guests, wine will flow, and a bonus fashion show (emceed by moi!) means it’s sure to be fun.

Popina Fifth Anniversary

Celebrating both a fancy new remodels and the fifth anniversary of their Pearl District location, Popina deserves a party. On First Thursday take a peek inside to see their new mini bar that serves Kona Brewing Company beers and peruse the huge selection of suits. They’ll all be 25% off that night only, so grab a new one for summer while you can.

Fashionxt Emerging Designer Auditions

Budding designers take note. This Sunday is the annual FashioNXT auditions for their Emerging Designer contest. A fan favorite every year, this competition gives a leg up to designers just getting off their feet with the winner receiving a plethora of prizes including a free spot in following year of FashioNXT, a trunk shot at Mabel & Zora’s to sell your goods, and a feature in the January issue of Portland Monthly! Fashion in Film

Has it been 3 months already? Hollywood Theater’s quarterly Fashion in Film festival returns next week. They sum it up best, “Money, violence, drugs, and betrayal may drive the glory that forms the backbone of Martin Scorsese’s epic masterpiece Casino—but where would it be without its sharkskin suits and sequins? Answer: Nowhere near as fun to watch!

Join the Portland Mercury’s Marjorie Skinner and Portland Monthly’s Eden Dawn for all the brass-knuckle, head-in-a-vice excitement of this 1995 classic, in which love triangles are disastrously formed, fortunes are made and lost, and Sharon Stone devastates with every pitch-perfect ‘70s- and ‘80s-era ensemble of furs and baubles designed for the rich and excessively high.
