Unmentionables brought the goods this week. Sassy emcee Marissa Sullivan cracked jokes while panty-clad models sashayed a flower-ensconced runway (designed by Bramble Floral) amidst a rowdy crowd. An always-fun fashion show for obviously titillating reasons, Unmentionables also aptly shines light on the growing number of lingerie specialists thriving in Portland. Plus, we all wear underwear–minus that guy–so doesn’t it deserve the same fashion attention we give the rest of our wardrobes?

VaVa Lingerie
Newbie Alyssa Woods's line channeled shades of Beyoncé with its super sexy lace triangle bras alongside soft-as-a-kitten velvet high-waisted panties.

Piper Dalton
Reviving an old method, Dalton deftly hand-knits cozy cashmere into soft wraps, bodysuits, and tanks. This is luxury loungewear.

Smith River
A little bit loungewear, a little bit space-age Barberella, Smith River brought drama to unconventional nightwear with a brocade jacket, chic crop tops, and a gold lamé halter gown. Because, well, why not?

Whiskey Dog Wares
A one-woman team located in Mars Hill, North Carolina, the Whiskey line was exceedingly wearable in soft bamboo with a cohesive rose print throughout.

Sock it To Me
Debuting their first underwear collection, Sock It To Me did what they do best: have fun. Boys and girls danced the runway in cute matching sock/briefs combos while the girls had makeshift, on-theme bras like kitty cats and unicorns. The crowd ate it up.

Chubby Cartwheels
A returning fan favorite, Chubby Cartwheels chases the gap often left in the plus-size world—sexy. The figure-skimming line mixed moss green velvet with pink mesh and lace on models that were clearly feeling it.

Lille Boutique
A specialty boutique rather than a line, Lille carries indie, exclusive, and just plain beautiful collections. The multi-designer delicate, satin, and lacey pieces had a romantic, fancy flair.

Altar
Altar continues their reign of dark, boho babes that do a little bit edgy and a little bit girly. A line of sexy black mesh bodysuits or a '90s-vibe dragon print made a whole room ask, “Can I pull off black heart pasties?”

Katastropic
An out-of-towner showing at Unmentionable for the first time, Katastrophic was one of the few lines to use decorative elastics and embellishments on their mixed bag of princess-seamed bustiers, hip-huggers, and classic briefs in soft tones of tie-dye.
