Fashion diva Frankie Simone is here to spread holiday cheer. Or, as she puts it, "holigay cheer." Simone and her choreographer wife Che Che Luna take over Mississippi Studios this Saturday, December 15, with an all-female lineup to give us the fashion-forward musical medleys we need. She even recorded a new song for it.
“I feel like there's an air of cheesiness to people who do them, but I think if it's done right it can be just a nice sweet thing,” Simone says of her slow and spacey version of “The Christmas Song,” which also gives a nod to a female Santa. “And the diversity factor is limited with the Christmas music that does exist. There’s not a lot that reflects anything about me, even though I love the music so much.”
You can hear Simone’s take live on Saturday, alongside musical performances from fellow fashion icon Blossom and Siren and the Sea. Also on deck? A special dance number from Che Che Luna, costumed backup dancers, and stylish burlesque queen Zora Von Pavonine. And if all that weren't enough, the night of sparkles and songs also doubles as a fundraiser for the Q Center.
“The whole lineup is female and just like a bunch of badass woman that I love and care about so much,” says Simone. “It will be glamour across the board.”
