After 12 years, five shops, and championing hundreds of local artists, Tender Loving Empire has launched their own apparel line, Brave New People. A natural next step for this beloved local company, the collection of baby onesies and children’s tees come printed with playful pink unicorns, blue sharks, and slithering snakes that say “Turn Your Fears into Friendsss.” Pieces are all an affordable $22 and range from 3 months up to kid’s size 6. 

“We believe that kids are resilient, hilarious, creative and brave,” wrote TLE cofounder Brianne Mees in a press release. “The new line was inspired by our own children, and our desire to help all brave, new people grow into strong, amazing adults.”

The company will donate 10 percent of the profits from Brave New People to child centered charities with the first focus on Make-a-Wish foundation who grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to give them joy. Oregon’s chapter (one of 62 nationwide) has granted more than 3,300 wishes in the area.

To celebrate Tender Loving Empire is throwing a free launch party for kids of all ages on Saturday, June 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its Bridgeport Village location. See the new collection, gorge on cones of Salt & Straw ice cream, get your face painted, and spin a prize wheel. TBH, sounds more fun than most fashion parties.
