Talk to me
If you haven’t weighed in on the proposed actions that the city is considering for improving single-track access inside Forest Park, now is a good time get on that.
The window for commenting on this topic ends May 5, a day you’ll surely want to have freed up entirely for scarfing some tacos down at the Cinco de Mayo fiesta at Waterfront Park.
The twelve proposals, which were announced at a well-attended open forum last week, include constructing a new two-mile trail parallel to portions of Leif Erikson, creating a new trailhead at Yeon Ave, and opening the remote Tolinda Trail (about .75 miles worth) to cyclists.
You can view all of the proposed action plans and tell the powers-that-be what you think by registering on the city’s website. (Took me less than a minute to get signed up.) Be sure to review the trail actions map to get a sense of where these things might be taking place in the park.
Once all the data is rounded up, the public’s comments will be presented to Commissioner Nick Fish on May 13.
Well, I don’t know about you, but all this talk of cycling civic duty has made me hungry.
Did someone say tacos?
