Serve St. Helens
Mount St. Helens institute asks avid hikers to treck the trails with intention.
Give back to the dusty trails your hiking boots helped disrupt this summer. Volunteer with the Mount St. Helens Institute and get your trail karma back in line.
With more than 500 miles of trails in the Mt. St. Helen’s region and only a few Forest Service Employees to maintain them, the Institute is looking for 10-30 volunteers who are willing to spend a day or even an entire weekend clearing brush from trails and restoring tred. Don’t worry though, the trips won’t be all work and no play. After the sun sets, it’s all stargazing and ghost stories with your new trail buds.If you’re interested go to www. mshintstitue.org and sign up for the Blue Lake area clean-up or live on the edge and volunteer to clean up the Blast Zone August 24 and 25.
