Skamania Lodge Makeover
The Gorge’s signature Stevenson resort gets a facelift with a renovated great room, restaurant, and adults-only hot tub.
This week marks the beginning of a six-week long remodeling project at Skamania Lodge, the 254-room hotel and resort nestled just across the Columbia on the Gorge’s forested slopes.
The revamp of the Gorge Room (the Lodge’s great room) and River Rock restaurant will be in keeping with the original 1993 design, one that recollects the great lodges of the 1900s. Think lots of wood, stone accents, area rugs, and, of course, the Lodge’s iconic 85-foot stone fireplace (which will remain the Gorge Room’s focal point). As part of the renovations, which should be finished by May 1, the Lodge will also add a new outdoor, adults-only hot tub to the Waterleaf Spa.
