Chic New Carlton Cottage

Walk to Wine: A modern four-bedroom rental debuts mere blocks from Carlton's bevy of tasting rooms.

The kitchen opens up to a modern Great Room, which boasts a gas fireplace and 55-inch flat screen.

It’s not every day wine country gets a new lodging option. So when it does, we feel compelled to crow about it—especially when it’s as sleek as the new Carlton Gates cottage.

Cottage is sort of a misnomer, actually. This four-bedroom, three-bathroom house set just a half mile from Carlton’s Main Street—and trove of tasting rooms—has room for 10, making it an ideal spot for couples vacations, bachelorette weekends, and even company retreats (it comes decked out with AV equipment). And at $450* a night in high season, you’ll want a few heads to make this place affordable.

Napa resident David Gates initially thought he’d live in the S Pine Street home, but instead decided to renovate the property into a wine country gem complete with five outdoor seating nooks, a home theatre, and a kitchen your foodie friends would flip over.
