Hidden 'Hood: Where Summer Guests Don't Go

Tourists may have found our town, but they haven't found our hottest neighborhood.

In a recent article proclaiming the 10 best neighborhoods tourists haven't haven't found, USA Today points to the Central Eastside as Portland's undiscovered corner. The newspaper cites our new streetcar, Coava coffee, and a burgeoning foodie scene anchored by Le Pigeon, Simpatica, and clarklewis (all several years old at this point, but who's counting).

Among the others on USA Today's list: Austin's South Congress, Boston's Seaport, Brooklyn's Cobble Hill Park, Seattle's Ballard, and East Nashville.

We, of course, know there are plenty of Portland pockets that never register on visitors' radar. Most of us live in them. Or want to. But in the event you've forgotten what makes Portland such an amazing place to live, let us help remind you with a rundown on our hottest microhoods.
