Jazz enthusiasts, pull on your vintage Herman Delman shoes because the 4th Annual Bend Broadband’s Jazz at The Oxford series kicks off next month. 

The series takes place at the boutique Oxford Hotel located in Bend, OR and will run through March 2014. This year, the series brings to town King Louie's Portland Blues Review featuring Lisa Mann & Andy Stokes, a rare performance by New York's Arturo O’Farrill Afro-Latin Septet, country charged jazz group Bruce Forman & Cow Bop, and many others.

Organizer Marshall Glickman is a native Portlander who has lived all over the world.  Five years ago when his family moved back to Oregon from Barcelona, Glickman realized that there were not many places for couples to go for a nightcap in Bend if they were not into the club scene.  So he teamed up with the Oxford Hotel when it first opened in 2009 to create a high-end, classy jazz venue.

“Now that we have credibility, we can bring well established musicians from many different places.  And now that our patrons trust us we can integrate diverse music styles exposing them to new sounds,” Glickman says.

Glickman’s son, Laz, who is a young jazz pianist, also motivated Glickman to organize the event.  “I wanted to create a situation for him and other young jazz musicians so that they too could be inspired by the music.”

Individual tickets go on sale September 30^th and series passes are available online now. Tickets start at $39.
