North Drinkware Puts Mt Hood in a Pint Glass

A Portland trio's Kickstarter project wants to drown Mt. Hood in your favorite beer.

North Drinkware hopes to give our craft beer the fitting vessel it deserves, with a pint glass that pays homage to Mt Hood.

The hand-blown, 16oz glass features a faithful 3D reproduction of our backyard peak, using a mold created from USGS topographical data. In North's Kickstarter pitch video, the trio of designers says they eventually hope to expand the line of glasses to include other mountains from around the country.

The Kickstarter project is only a few days old, but has already exceeded its modest $15,000 goal by many thousands of dollars (over $200,000 at the time of this writing.) At $35 a piece, the glasses are not cheap, but it's safe to expect the number of orders to rise considerably over the next month.

According to the Kickstarter timeline, glass production will begin in March.
