Exotic, Far-Flung Atlanta Now Only a Nonstop Flight Away

The mysterious lands known as Atlanta, Georgia

Alaska Airlines announced this week it will be summer nonstop service from Portland to Atlanta starting June 4. The airline briefly offered service to Atlanta in 2013 and 2014.
The new flight isn't a game-changer, but catching a connecting flight in Atlanta does potentially make booking summer vacations through Alaska a lot easier. Not only is Hartsfield-Jackson International one of the busiest airports in the world, it's the domestic hub for Delta, one of Alaska's partners.
One more reason this matters: Major League Soccer will add a new team in Atlanta in 2017, meaning a Timbers away game could be just the reason you need to explore #Hotlanta.
