We started at 6a on what, under normal circumstances, would be a 20-minute trip. We finally decided to go the opposite direction when all incoming trains were coming in full. We had set up our phones to get updates from Metro and at 5:45a we were told that the parking lots were already full at the end of the line.

It’s been 1hr 40 min and we’re finally going back toward DC.

UPDATE: 8:46 AM our time.

Just got off the train, 3 hrs to get 3 miles.

Forrest Whitaker just passed us on the street.
