A crowd of 125 outdoor lovers packed the Keen Footwear headquarters in the Pearl District for Oregon Wild’s Celebration 2008 fundraiser. The annual party and auction took place November 14 and featured a keynote address by Congressman Earl Blumenauer. “You can’t have livable communities unless they are surrounded by special places that are protected,” Blumenauer said. Oregon Wild’s current effort is to designate 202,000 acres of state land as federally safeguarded wilderness.
