I honestly never thought I’d get the chance to see Os Mutantes, a really, really, innovative and weirdly wonderful Brazilian psychedelic act from the late ‘60s, in the flesh. I adore their self-titled first record, and everyone I’ve played it for ends up a fan. Thank the gods, Os Mutantes will be creating their trademark loopy, outré pop next Wednesday at the Aladdin Theater. So tell us: what does psychedelic Brazilian pop sound like?
