Francationers (n)

July 19, 2012 Published in the August 2012 issue of Portland Monthly

Francationers (n)

The subgroup of people impossible to work with (or even reach) during August, because they mysteriously spend the whole month “on holiday.

In a sentence: “I work with so many *Francationers! They somehow stockpile four weeks to spend at the coast every year, so the office is basically out of commission until Labor Day. We get caught up by Halloween. Then the same people take a month off for Christmas.”

Antonym: Germaniacs: people who log 60-hour workweeks, no matter what’s going on.
