Portland Actor Isaac Lamb Proposes. Millions Watch.

The world’s first Live Lip-Dub Proposal

By Aaron Scott May 27, 2012

I just came across Portland actor Isaac Lamb’s grandly choreographed proposal to dancer/choreographer/actor/girlfriend Amy Frankel, and I have to admit I teared up a little. Isaac proposed on Wednesday and posted the video on Friday, thinking only friends and family would watch. Two days later, it’s had over over 2 million views, having been picked up by HuffPo, MSNBC, etc, and tweeted by Bruno Mars, who said he couldn’t have made a better music video himself. And they’re headed to NYC to appear on The Today Show Tuesday morning (after turning down Good Morning America and Ellen. We totally would’ve gone with Ellen—of all people, she would’ve most appreciated the choreography.)

I suspect this is going to set an intimidatingly high bar for all future creative proposals. Sixty participants, full choreography (you might recognize some of the moves from Frankel’s choreography for Portland Opera’s recent production of Candide), and the whole thing while moving down a street…buck up, boyfriends, you’re going to need synchronized divers or an air show to top it!
