Rufus Wainwright at the Aladdin On Sale Friday

The debonair singer-songwriter returns to town on Oct 26 for his most intimate show in years.

Rufus Wainwright seems to love Portland almost as much as Portland loves him. From one of his earliest concerts, when he said that the boys were just cuter in Portland (and consequently made a late night sojourn or two to Silverado); to his performance with the Oregon Symphony; to a recent trip to town to record with Thomas Lauderdale and Pink Martini for their upcoming album, he’s been in and out of our green streets enough to earn an honorary Stumptown badge.

And now he returns for his most intimate show in years: October 26 at the Aladdin Theater. Of course, you’ll pay a pretty penny for it ($55), but it’s likely the smallest venue you’ll see him in unless you can charm your way into one of his recording sessions with Pink Martini.

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10am.

Also, he makes some of the most fantastic music videos ever. Hello, sexy Helena Bonham Carter librarian...
