You Think You Know Wes Anderson? Take Our Quiz, Then Watch His Film Festival

Anderson in a commercial he directed for American Express
This summer, NW Film Center takes audiences on a journey through the adorable dysfunction of one of the most idiosynchratic directors of our time with Wes's World. The film series pairs Anderson's films, from Rushmore to Moonrise Kingdom (Bottle Rocket will screen in the Top Down: Rooftop Cinema Series), with the films that influenced them.
Watch Steve Zissou's real life counterpart in Jacques Cousteau's Voyage to the End of the World, before taking in The Life Aquatic. Look for Fantastic Mr. Fox's subtle references to King Kong by viewing the two back-to-back. Did the love story in Rushmore seem vaguely familiar? See if watching it after Harold and Maude clears anything up.
Each of Anderson's films will play twice, with a different influential pairing for each screening. The initial screening will include introductions from well-travelled experts of the world of Wes Anderson, including Fantastic Mr. Fox's director of animation, Mark Gustafson, and the author of The Wes Anderson Collection, Matt Zoller Seitz.
