A lost soul in conversation with death, a gun-toting monster hunter, and a misunderstood mammoth are among the characters visiting the Hollywood Theatre this week as part of the annual Northwest Animation Festival. More than 200 animated works—selected by an international jury from some 1,300 submissions—will screen in what's billed as the medium's largest festival in the country. That's more than 24 hours of film, created one painstaking frame at a time.
