Portland’s annual women’s film festival, POWFest, has announced this year’s guest of honor, with Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke coming to Portland for the March event.

Hardwicke most recently directed Miss You Already, with Drew Barrymore and Toni Colette, as well as the video for the Oscar-nominated song by Lady Gaga and Diane Warren:  “Til It Happens to You,” highlighting the rape crisis on college campuses. Miss You Already, Twilight, and her directorial debut Thirteen—which won the Director's Award at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival—will all be shown as part of this year’s POWFest, with Hardwicke present for Q&As after each screening.

The festival, which showcases women directors, has played host to directors such as Kathryn Bigelow, Amy Heckerling, and Penelope Spheeris in previous years. The ninth POWFest will feature narrative and documentary features from local and international directors over its four-day run at the Hollywood Theatre, from March 3 to March 6. Keep an eye on www.powfest.com over the coming weeks for the full line-up, schedule, and tickets, and in the meantime, see Hardwicke's Lady Gaga video below.
